G.I. Joe Vehicle Drivers Not Coming To The Classified Line?

Story By Mitchell Smith

Welcome to the Outpost. Today I’m discussing G.I. Joe figures that may never get a 6 inch G.I. Joe Classified figure. Not a specific one, but drivers and pilots may get the stiff arm for the most part. I realize they did a HISS Tank, but it was expensive and probably a lot of people passed on pre ordering this one. Copperhead is the First driver released at retail but with no vehicle. If you look back at the size of the vehicles GI Joe has produced over the years I’m not sure why we are not getting vehicles.

Maybe Hasbro realized they won’t sell for the 300% profit they want to make on each item. I would have to assume we won’t get many drivers or pilots in the 6 inch style because most are associated with their vehicle. 2 classic characters I would love to see are Ace and Wild Weasel. Both definitely appreciated through the years but I feel like these 2 and many other drivers will get the stiff arm because their respected vehicle will be deemed too big to produce. Other pilots that would be cool are Wild Bill, Slipstream, Lift Ticket and Gyro Viper. Some vehicle drivers I would love to see are Frostbite, Cross Country, Cutter, Ice Viper, and Thrasher.

Jets would maybe be a bit much but I think Hasbro could get a Vamp with Clutch and a Stinger with Driver at a reasonable price to sell at retail, or at least reasonable as a Hasbro Pulse exclusive. The days of getting vehicles the size of the Whale, Rolling Thunder, or Night Raven are gone, but I really think Hasbro could make something like a Snowcat or Ferret and keep it at a reasonable price. Not to mention some classic play sets or scenery would be awesome. Which vehicle driver do you want to see? Do you think Hasbro could produce vehicles affordable to the blue collar collector? What vehicle would you love to see released in Classified Scale? How much is too much to pay for one? Share your opinions with us in the comments. Make sure to check back on our next discussion.
